Anne Benison is the practice director of The Podiatry Foot Clinic in Kettering, Northamptonshire. 

 

She graduated from The University of Northampton, achieving a Batchelor of Science First Class degree with honours in Podiatric Medicine. 

 

On graduation she worked for the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and  Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust in the Diabetic and  High Risk Foot Service and now runs her private practice.  Anne has a special interest in Diabetes footcare and management.  Post graduate study includes  “The Lower Limb at Risk” masters module at The Univestity of Northampton which included study of the diabetic and rheumatoid foot.  She has also completed the Diabetic Foot Module.

 

Anne gained a distinction for her dissertation on plantar fasciopathy and continues to have a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions and biomechanics which stems from a previous career as a remedial massage therapist and  massage diploma tutor.  She has also attended  a practical biomechnics course with Paul Harradine.

 

Anne is also qualified in Foot Mobilisation Techniques for Podiatrists which is approved by The College of Podiatry and can  be used to assess, treat and manage a range of musculoskeletal conditions.

 

Anne is also qualified to give "Verrucae Needling" or "Falknor Needling", done under local anaesthetic, aimed at stimulating the immune system to attack the verrucae to give a permanent resolution and prevent reoccurrence.   

 

Anne is fully ensured to practice and is a member of The Royal College of Podiatry as well as being registered with the Health and Care Professions Council; registration number: CH33893. She is also an associate member of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and The British Dermatological Nursing Group.
